WHO ARE WE?

Cosplay Market Convention is a small, locally grown convention, we are run by cosplayers for cosplayers thanks to our volunteers and our coordinators. The forefront of our event is our market, small local businesses, larger businesses, cosplayers or artists can set up shop in the Market section where they can sell 2nd hand goods or unique items any cosplayer/crafter would treasure!

Our mission is to create a unique and exciting cosplay convention for the local community. However, anyone who is passionate about crafting, performing or just has a cool special interest is welcome to share their passion as a vendor or an attendee.

Our goal is to become a fully fledged convention, with a venue capacity of over 10,000. While maintaining our principles of community, creativity, charity and sustainability.

FOUR CORE PRINCIPLES

Community

Our mission is to grow the cosplay community and provide an opportunity to meet like minded people and a safe space to learn, have fun and make friends.

At CMC we support various communities, including: Cosplayers, Craftspeople, J-fashion and Lolita enthusiasts, Jpop Idol fans and many more.

Sustainability

Our mission is to provide an opportunity for people to learn and contribute to efforts of decreasing the environmental impacts of fast fashion cosplay, by giving a space to sell and buy cosplays second hand.

At CMC we provide primarily our second hand market, as a way to reduce the impact of fast fashion cosplay. As well as our Fabric Scrap Initiative and Cosplay Op Shop

Creativity

Our mission is to support and uplift creativity and passion in the crafting and cosplay communities, by platforming artists, providing education, and providing a space where all creatives are accepted.

At CMC we platform many types of creatives, giving opportunities to speak directly to their audience on our stage, compete in competitions to win many awesome prizes and collaborate with artists and small businesses to creative unique products for the convention.

Charity

Our mission is to support charities and causes that directly impact members of the cosplay community, by increasing visibility, education and financial support for our elected charity.

At CMC we partner with an elected charity based in Australia that tackle an issue facing our attendees.

We donate a portion of our profits to an elected charity, run a sponsored raffle for our attendees and bring awareness to an issue facing the community and how the charity is helping to improve or solve it.

The event sold out in 3 weeks, with overwhelming public interest of over 20,000 people from our various social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok and Facebook)

The market received extremely positive feedback, only critiquing that there should have been more tickets, a larger venue and more to do.
